950 Gough Street
San Francisco, CA
950 Gough is a new 95-unit development in San Francisco directly across from the City's Jefferson Square Park at Gough Street & Eddy Street's southeast corner. The project sits on the former historic St. Paulus Lutheran Church site, which was lost to a fire in 1995. As part of the development agreement, St. Paulus was granted a right to return to a new 10,000 ft² commercial condo 'sanctuary' space on the ground floor along Gough Street.
Alternating façade systems distinguish the new sanctuary space and residential portions of the building. The sanctuary space uses a unitized curtain wall system while the residential areas are clad in prefabricated continuous EPS insulation panels punctuated by windows. The façade expression along Eddy Street takes its inspiration from the classic bay windows of nearby buildings and an iconic carillon element marks the entry to the sanctuary space at the corner of Gough & Eddy.
An amenity deck for residents at Level 6 has sweeping views of Jefferson Square Park to the west and Hayes Valley to the south. The residential unit finishes are contemporary and clean with light hardwood floors, wood veneer casework, blackened hardware, light marble tile backsplash and quartz countertops. Out of the 95 rental units, 11 are set aside for below-market-rate.
